Serger-Crocheted Dress - Serger Project

Never learned to crochet? Well, now you can crochet on your serger! With this technique, which requires only a three-thread overlock stitch using a heavier thread, you can add crocheted edges to many different projects.

Adding this edge to ready-made clothing items is a cinch, and what great gifts you can make! The serger crochet also looks very elegant when added to a linen table runner.

Supplies Recommended:

  • Clothing item of your choice
  • 2 Spools 12wt. thread in contrasting colors to the garment
  • 1 Spool regular serger thread to match heavy thread
  • Serger needle size 80/12
  • 28mm double fold bias binder
  • Marking pen
  • Fabric Sealant (Fray Block)
  • Permanent fabric glue
