Ruffly Scarf - Serger Project

 Make this trendy scarf using a combination of soft knit fabrics and a sheer fabric for the ruffles. You will be using various serger techniques including gathering, rolled hems, a four-thread overlock, and a narrow overlock with two threads in the upper looper to create an exciting edge to the scarf.

Supplies Recommended:

  • 1/3 yard knit fabric in a print
  • 1/3 yard knit fabric in a solid or coordinating color for lining
  • 1/2 yard sheer fabric for ruffles in a contrasting color
  • Serger needles size 80/12
  • Cover/chain stitch foot
  • Ruffling foot
  • Clear presser foot
  • Super Clips (mini)
  • 4 spools regular serger thread
  • 2 spools 12 wt. thread in coordinating colors
  • Glue pen
  • Fabric sealant (Fray Block)
